The Sebastian, A Cocktail Not for the Birds
This cocktail first saw the light of day, under the watchful eye of Sebastian, a gorgeous, seemingly ever-smiling African Grey parrot who lives with Mary Trump.
The name came from Allison Gill, who noted, that with its grapefruit and vodka, it wasn’t too different than a Greyhound cocktail. And what with Sebastian the Bird being an African Grey parrot, well…you see how we got here?
These are the cocktails we’re drinking during the October 29, 2021 episode of The Secret Life of Cookies podcast.
Please make a cocktail and listen along.
The cocktail itself is a lovely blend of floral St. Germain (elderflower liqueur, which if you don’t have part of your liquor cabinet, go out and get some now. I will wait.), pink grapefruit juice, vodka and pink Cava. You can also use pink Prosecco. If rosé isn’t available, use regular, it just won’t be as pink!
If you like drinks a little more on the bitter side (feeds my soul that does), use .75 ounces of grapefruit and .25 oz St. Germain is your ratio.
